All Reports
The Reports page is the single catalog for every report DayZero can build — financial statements, trial balance, general ledger, AR/AP aging, tax summaries, banking, equity, analysis dashboards, and full QoE workbooks. Each report runs asynchronously in the background, so you configure parameters, kick it off, and download the finished file when it's ready. You can also schedule recurring email delivery and let AI suggest which report answers the question you're asking.
Key capabilities
- Searchable catalog organized into a dozen collapsible categories (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Trial Balance & GL, AR/AP, Tax, Banking, Equity, Analysis, Transactions, Inventory, QoE)
- Three tabs — Report Catalog, Recent Reports, and Scheduled
- Output as Excel (XLSX), CSV, or HTML — pick the format per run
- Period presets (This Month, This Quarter, This Year, custom) and comparison-period date pickers for variance reports
- Per-report parameters: account/customer/vendor/tag/budget pickers, grouping (monthly/quarterly/yearly), payment method, and toggles like include variance, common size, and YoY
- Asynchronous generation with live progress (streamed status, percent complete) and automatic download when complete
- Recent Reports list to re-download anything generated earlier
- Scheduled tab for recurring auto-generation and email delivery
- AI Suggest panel recommends reports based on your business profile and report history
- Favorite (star) any report into a Quick Access row
- Add-on gating: CFO Advisory Suite and QoE & Due Diligence reports show a lock and upgrade prompt until enabled
- Custom one-off reports can be built through the AI chat when the catalog doesn't have what you need
How it works
Generation is offloaded to a background task. The panel streams status updates and downloads the file the moment it finishes, so large reports never block the UI.

- Open Reports (
/books/reports) — the Report Catalog tab lists every report by category. - Search by name or description, or expand a category to browse. Click the star on a report to pin it to Quick Access.
- Click a report to open the generate panel. Pick a Period preset or enter custom Start/End dates (some reports are as-of-date only; comparison reports add a second date range).
- Set any report-specific parameters (grouping, accounts, customer/vendor, tags, toggles).
- Choose an Output Format — XLSX, CSV, or HTML — then click Generate Report.
- Watch the progress bar; the file downloads automatically on success and also lands in Recent Reports.
- Switch to the Scheduled tab to set up recurring generation and email delivery.
- Open the AI Suggest panel for recommendations, and click Run Report to jump straight into a suggestion with parameters pre-filled.
Pro tips
- Reports run in the background — if one is slow, keep working and grab it from Recent Reports when it completes (the panel even survives a timeout by pointing you there).
- Use HTML output for a quick on-screen read, XLSX when you'll pivot or edit, and CSV for importing into another tool.
- Comparative and periodic statements (with variance, common-size, and YoY columns) live in the catalog, not on the live statement pages — use them for board decks and client packages.
- Schedule the P&L and Balance Sheet to auto-generate and email monthly so clients get a consistent package without manual effort.
- Locked reports (CFO Suite, QoE & Due Diligence) show an upgrade prompt — during a trial these are unlocked so you can evaluate them.
- Need something bespoke? Use Generate a custom report in chat to have the AI assemble a report, deck, or document from your data.

Generation lifecycle and formats
What happens after you start a report:
- Submit — clicking Generate Report submits a background task and returns a task id.
- Progress — the panel subscribes to a status stream (falling back to polling) and shows a smoothed progress bar with step messages.
- On
SUCCESS— surfaces a download link and triggers the browser download. - On failure or timeout — offers Retry and notes the file may still appear in Recent Reports.
- Formats — XLSX, CSV, and HTML; multi-tab reports (e.g. Master Transactions, QoE Workbook) are richest as XLSX.
Add-ons and access
How gated reports behave:
- Gated reports — those flagged for the CFO Advisory Suite or QoE & Due Diligence add-ons render with a lock icon and an add-on badge.
- Clicking a locked report — opens an upgrade dialog rather than running it.
- Access — granted by an active add-on, a grandfathered add-on, or an active trial.
